Funeral services for Jack D. Sullivan, Sr., age 78 of Dubach, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 15, 2021 at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston, LA with Rev. Ron Lowe and Danny Sullivan officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Rest Cemetery on Hwy. 146 in Dubach, LA under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Jack was born on April 30, 1943 to Clarence and Audie Johnston Sullivan in Sikes, LA and he stepped into Heaven October 12, 2021.  Jack worked for Adams Industries for seventeen years before retiring.  He enjoyed working on antique cars and trucks especially the 1955 Chevy's.  He also enjoyed gardening.   He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids.  Jack loved talking to his grandkids like Donald Duck.  He would call each of his kids every night and tell them how much he loved them, often hanging up without saying goodbye so he could call the next one.  Any disagreements he had were resolved before retiring for the evening, even if he had to be the one to apologize.  He liked talking about his ancestry and was very knowledgeable.  He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Donnie Ray Sullivan, Sr. and all of his brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Janelle Sullivan; three daughters:  Terri and husband, Robert Hurst; Barbara and husband, Mike Burchell and Melissa and husband, John Stephenson; five sons:  Ricki Sullivan and wife, Peggy, Kenneth and wife, Sheri Sullivan, Ronnie Sullivan, Jack Sullivan, Jr. and wife, Brittney, and Jesse Sullivan and wife, Jamie.  He leaves a legacy of twenty-one grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
