Jack William Stewart, Jr, age 75 of Ruston, passed away at his home on February 19, 2019. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Frances Stewart, Sr., one sister, and a grandson, Robert Parker Nations.

Jack was born on June 6, 1943 in Tacoma, WA, the son of the late Jack and Frances Stewart, Sr. (Hewitt). Shortly, after graduating from high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for 12 years with four tours of duty in Vietnam. On May 23, 1992, he wed his sweetheart, the former Connie Smith of Springhill, with whom he would go on to share more than twenty-six years of marriage.

He worked as a sheriff's deputy for Bossier Parish and later for Columbia County, AR.  Jack lived life fully and boldly. He had a great love for the outdoors and was an avid sportsman. Jack was a loyal supporter of Ruston Dixie Baseball and the Ruston Reds.  He enjoyed watching his grandsons play all sports.  All of the teams knew him as "Papa Jack."

Jack is survived by his wife, Connie; his two daughters:  Jennifer and husband James Lee of McKinney, TX and Barbie and husband Ben Tyler of Houma, LA; two sons:  Toby Nations and wife Julia of Ruston, LA and Justin Nations and wife Lisa of West Monroe, LA; eleven grandchildren: Xavier, Jeremiah, Jasmine and Katalina Lee; Sam, Peyton, and AJ Nations; Dorothy Grace and Georgia Tyler; Caroline Nations and Matthew Calhoun.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 pm on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Jeff Sanford officiating under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.
