Funeral services for Herschel Allen "Joe Bird" Cooper, age 68 of Dubach, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 12, 2024 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston, LA with Rev. Greg Tipon and Bro. Joey Butt officiating.  Burial will follow in Mineral Springs Cemetery in Dubach, LA under the direction of Owens Memorial Funeral Home.

Joe Bird died on April 9, 2024, in Ruston, LA. He was born September 20, 1955, in Ruston, LA, to parents, Herschel and Tommie June Cooper. He worked at the Laurens Glass Plant for 33 years. Joe Bird was an avid hunter, particularly when it came to turkey hunting. Joe Bird is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Donna Cooper of Ruston, LA; son, Jasen Cooper and wife Lacey; daughter, Tori Butt and husband Joey; grandchildren: Tobey Cooper, Scarlett Cooper, Inman Cooper and Payton Butt; sister, June Cooper Shaw and husband Shorty; stepmom, Madeline Cooper; nephew, Jeremy Shaw and wife Cherry; and two great-nieces: Taylor and Emmalane Shaw, all of Dubach, LA; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Payton Butt, Tobey Cooper, Jeremy Shaw, Cade Leggett, Jared Barmore, and Sid Billberry. Honorary pallbearer will be JD Driskill.

Visitation will be held from 12:30-2:00 PM, Friday, April 12, 2024, at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
