Funeral services for Mr. Henry Clay Smith, age 78 of Ruston, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 6, 2023 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston with Rev. Scott Jennings officiating. Burial will follow in the Vienna Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Henry was born November 24, 1944 in Monroe, LA to Gracie Mae Knight and Elijah Daniel Smith, and he passed away January 2, 2023 in Ruston, LA. He drove as a truck driver for over 55 years. Henry loved his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed watching westerns and cleaning his yard. Henry was a hard worker and took care of his family and friends. He enjoyed working and was never sitting around. Henry was preceded in death by John T. Smith; Tonie Smith; Bill Smith; James Albert; brother Sammy Joe Smith; Dorine Barmore; Dorothy Jones; and sister Sue Davis.

Henry is survived by his wife of 55 years Nancy Smith of Ruston; daughter Tina Louise Smith and husband David Lloyd Smith, Sr. of Choudrant, LA; sons Christopher Smith and wife Angela Denise of Jonesboro, LA and Edwin Daniel Smith and wife Debbie Sue of Jonesboro; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters Mary Brasesco of Oklahoma City, OK and Melinda R. Voss of MS; and a host of family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Henry's grandsons: David Lloyd Smith, Jr., Henry Christopher Smith, Christian Wade Smith, Cory Daniel Smith, Gage Wayne Smith and Casey Joe Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Tony Clay Smith, Jr. and Colton Garrett Smith.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston.
