Funeral Services for Harold David Morris, age 68, of Simsboro will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Owens Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gene Benson officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Creek Cemetery, Simsboro under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.
David drove a truck for over forty-seven years and was a heavy equipment operator. He loved to hunt, fish, ride the four-wheeler and side by side, and raising vegetables in his garden. He also enjoyed watching westerns and religious T.V. David loved spending time with his family and his grandkids. He was a member of Walnut Creek Church until its closing.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Dorothy Morris and sister, Johnnie.
He is survived by two daughters: Tammie and husband Joshua Gambill of Covington, OH and Danna and husband Rev. Gene Benson of West Monroe, LA; six grandchildren: Alex Mason of West Monroe, LA, Chanlin Lowery of Christiansburg, OH, Chanstin Lowery of Piqua, OH, Nicholas Pevytoe of West Monroe, LA, Chandin Gambill of Covington, OH and Chandrea Gambill of Covington, OH; six great-grandchildren: Ariana, Mariah, Jezalynn, Journey, Jersey and Henry; two brothers: William Morris and Ronnie Morris both of Simsboro, LA; seven sisters: Shirley McDaniel of Simsboro, LA, Dottie and husband Charlie Lee of Mountain View, AR, Linda and husband Harry Bass of Simsboro, LA, Mary and husband Marty Williams of Bryceland, LA, Kay and husband James Godwin of Dubach, LA, Connie and husband Larry Brazzel of Dubach, LA and Lula and husband Billy Skidmore of Atlanta, TX and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Heath Morris, Alex Mason, Chanlin Lowery, Chanstin Lowery, Nicholas Pevytoe and Chandin Gambill.
Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until time of service, Wednesday, June 3 at Owens Memorial Chapel.
