Memorial services for Gregory "Greg" Lamar Reynolds, age 62 of Dubach, will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 1, 2018 at LifeChurch in Ruston with Rev. David Harrell officiating.  A celebration of life gathering will immediately follow until 8:30 PM at 191 Hwy 146 in Choudrant.

Greg was born March 27, 1956 to the union of Rosa and Thomas Reynolds and died August 27, 2018. Nearing the end of June 2016, Greg had undergone abdominal surgery to determine the etiology of the gastrointestinal issues he had been experiencing.  On July 13, 2016, he was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer.  The following October he began seven months, 14 rounds, of chemotherapy.  During this time, he had the opportunity to travel.  While taking road trips with his family they were able to make precious memories and he was able to mark several items off his bucket list.  Among this list was a MLB game, Cubs vs. Reds, a visit to the baseball hall of fame and a NASCAR race, just to name a few.  He obtained cancer remission that lasted a year.  In the summer of 2018, the cancer presented again.  This time the cancer cells were rapidly multiplying and had metastasized, therefore unable to be treated.  He was transitioned to hospice on August 19 ^th , 2018.  The love of family and friends seen surrounding his bedside, during this time, is a testimony to the quality and quantity of love he poured into them.  Greg was known to be ornery and stubborn at times, but it is thought that these qualities also made him strong enough to battle cancer.

Greg had a love for many things, but of these his family was of the upmost importance and a blood tie was not necessary for you to be considered a part of his.  Many times you would find him incorporating his hobbies into quality time with them.  They would often use any excuse for a cook-out knowing Greg would bring the best dish, incorporating vegetables from his own garden.  He probably thought it was his delicious fried turkey bringing them together during the holidays, but truly it was the ability to create treasured memories with him.  Anytime a family gathering occurred he could be found playing cards, dominos, bingo or even bocce ball.  He was also known to be a sports fanatic!  If he was not actively participating in a sport, or attending a loved one's sporting event, you can guarantee his conversations revolved around them or that his TV/radio were tuned into a game.  These games were not particular to one type either, they spanned from baseball and football to NASCAR; among those his favorite teams were the New York Yankees, the New Orleans Saints and driver Denny Hamlin.  He was an avid golfer, filling his spare time on the greens with family members as well as friends that were near and dear to him.  He was a hunter and a fisherman.  He enjoyed spending time outdoors, with his family, on canoe trips and was known to be a rock "thief", or a collector thereof.  Lastly, but certainly not least he was a beauty pageant supporter and could be seen cheering on his grand-daughter from the crowd.

If Greg was not seen loving on his family, goofing around with them, he was hard at work.  He was known to be a Jack-of-all-trades with his hands busy tinkering, building, repairing and painting.  Just about the only thing you would not find him doing is a mechanical job.  Although he did work hard, he also made his days enjoyable by bringing smiles and laughter to those around him as he was known to be a prankster.  Their stories are too numerous to be told here.  If you knew Greg, insert your favorite story here by sharing with his family and continuing his memory.  To hear one, you can refer to one of his many cherished friends and family members as you can be assured that they each have a favorite tale to tell.

What cancer took from Greg and his family they gained in abundance.  Since his diagnosis he was the glue that strengthened his family and not the other way around.  He would send family text messages just to say, "I love you" or "Good morning" that will forever be imprinted on their hearts.  Greg accepted salvation, thus beginning a personal relationship with his Lord, Jesus Christ, and due to this his family is able to feel a sense of peace knowing he is no longer battling cancer and is resting in the Savior's arms. He is preceded in death by his mother, Rosa Pearl Fuller and grandmother, Iva Fuller.

Greg is survived by his dad: Thomas Lamar Reynolds of Dubach; children: Amanda Rose Reynolds and Jason Lamar Reynolds, both of Dubach, Melissa Shay Colvin and Rebecca Dawn Davis, both of Ruston; grandchildren: the apple of his eye, Izzabella Betty-Rose Reynolds, Megan Hobson, Damien Davis, Nicholas Davis, and Brandon Davis; great grandchildren: Dallas Chandler and Dakota  Chandler; siblings: Thomas "Tony" Anthony Reynolds and wife Patricia "Patty" Kay Reynolds of Ruston, Ramona "Mona" Kay and husband Donnie Earl Martin of Choudrant, and Vanessa Ann Impson of Choudrant; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews: Becky and Shane Otwell of Dubach, Bambi, Trey, Gloria and Gabe Hinson of Choudrant, Brandi, Nick, Aubry, Eian and Liam Cripps of Choudrant, Chris Aubree, Tristan and Colby Impson of Calhoun, Matt, Stacey, Mason and Payton of Choudrant, Nick, Destiny, Hayden and Lawson of Choudrant, Catherine Reynolds and Patrick Reynolds of Ruston, Brandy Thomas, Caden and Casen Willis of Choudrant.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until time of service, Saturday, September 1, 2018 at LifeChurch in Ruston. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Greg Reynolds Memorial Fund at Bancorp South.
