Dubach
Funeral services for Mr. Grady Lee Bagwell, age 87 of Dubach, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 8, 2025 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Dubach, LA with Bro. Thomas Patton and Bro. Paul Watts officiating. Burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
Grady was born on July 10, 1938 to Curtis and Violee (Broughton) Bagwell in Dubach, LA. He made his journey home Friday evening, December 5, 2025, surrounded by Gwin and Mervin while at Glenwood Hospital ICU. A journey that came too suddenly for us, but one he was ready to make after his increasing health issues of the last few months.
Grady had a love for serving God in his home church of Fellowship Baptist which he did until he was no longer able to live alone there. He was involved in so many of their events, even if in some minute role. He was known to everyone as a person who loved the outdoors, whether he was hunting, fishing, or just enjoying the freedom of outside. Even his earlier work life was surrounded by the outdoors operating heavy construction equipment or trucks. One of his most talked about accomplishments was being part of building Interstate 20 through Shreveport and then east from Monroe.
Grady was preceded in death by his wife, Nelda (Delony) Bagwell; paternal grandparents, Robert J. and Clarissa Bagwell; maternal grandparents, Ed and Anise Broughton; parents, Curtis B. and Violee Bagwell; sister, Ilah B. Bagwell; great nephew, Cody A. Britt; and great niece, Alyse Britt.
Grady is survived by his son, Gwin Edwards and wife Mary; grandson, Matthew Hipple and wife Holly; and great-granddaughter, Hannah Hipple. Grady is also survived by his brother, Mervin (Rhonda) Bagwell; nieces: Melanie (Ronnie) Britt; Tonya Bagwell (Jim Billington) and Alison Bagwell; and a host of other family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Hammons, Larry Green, Ken Telford, Ron Badgley, Deanie Herring, and Chris May. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Taylor, Doug Bagwell, Keith Bagwell, and W.O. Bagwell.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to 'Fellowship Baptist Senior Home Fund" for aid in purchasing materials for those in the area in need of home repairs or modifications to assist with their mobility.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until time of service, Monday, at Fellowship Baptist Church. If you would like to leave an online memorial message for the family, please visit: www.owensmemorialfuneralhome.com
