Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Parnell "Dottie" Morris, age 63 of Arcadia, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, May 2023 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston, LA with Rev. Jason Cole officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Creek Cemetery in Simsboro under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

Dottie was born June 25, 1959 in Shreveport, LA to Dorothy Botzong and Carlos Mullins and passed away May 18, 2023 in Ruston. She worked in the retail industry as a cashier and in the food industry as a cook. Dottie was an awesome wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She and Barbara Dison have had a friendship lasting 48 years. Dottie was preceded in death by her son Nick Morris and her parents.

Dottie is survived by her husband Gordon McDowell; daughter Jenny and husband David Aldridge; son Ronnie Morris; step-daughters Jennifer and husband Blake Batterton and Jessica and husband Lynwood Otwell; grandchildren: Melanie Morris, Savannah Aldridge, Kaitlyn Aldridge, Trace Ebarb, Ricky Cook, Eva Batterton, Rebecca Otwell and Mitchel Otwell; countless nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and many friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Trace Ebarb, Mark Ebarb, Presley Morris, Blake Batterton, John Cullins and Nathan McDowell.

Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 PM, Monday, May 22, 2023 at the funeral home.
