A graveside memorial service for Don Faust will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 14, 2019 at Weldon Cemetery in Bernice, LA with Rev. Rolly Walker officiating.  Services are under direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Lieutenant Colonel Donald Roy Faust, 86, of Snellville, Georgia passed away on June 1, 2019.  As a loving husband and a doting grandfather, this gentleman by all standards will be sorely missed.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Williams Neal Faust, her daughter Carey Lee Neal Jordan and husband Carlton; grandchildren Mary Margaret and Christopher, all of Melissa, Texas; his brother William Marvin Faust and his wife Donna of Lockhart, Texas and five nephews: Jeff Faust, Jody Faust, Gary Crowell, Neal Crowell and Bradshaw Crowell.

Donald is also survived by in-laws including Judith Williams Wood and her husband David of Spartanburg, South Carolina and their three sons: David Wood, Jr., John Wood and Leland Wood; Lori Williams Cox and her husband David of Snellville, Georgia  and their daughter Alexandria Cox and son Thomas Cox as well as a niece, Susan Williams Gwynn.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Toombs and Thelma Bradshaw Faust, his sister Elizabeth Faust Crowell, his brother-in-law Leland Kenneth Williams and nephew Leland Samuel Williams.

Donald graduated from Louisiana State University where he was active on campus and served as president of Kappa Sigma fraternity.  Upon graduation, he received a commission as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force and later served in the Mississippi Air National Guard for a total of 27 years of faithful service to our nation.

Donald took great pride in his many civic duties for the town of Ruston, Louisiana, through his service to the Ruston Hospital Board, as an avid fan of the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs as well as his LSU Tigers, and his gardening and received countless hours of joy surrounded by his roses and irises, a pleasure surpassed only by his time with family.

A private viewing and celebration of life was held for immediate family on June 5, 2019 in Snellville, Georgia.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Donald's memory at P.
