Dianne Capps Ebeyer, 72, of Dubach, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 4, 2019 in Ruston, Louisiana after an extensive illness with dementia.
She was born in Brevard, North Carolina on August 20, 1947 to P. Merrill & Cora Belle Capps. Dianne graduated from Wingate University in 1967 with an Associates of Arts and from Mars Hill College in 1969 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She met the love of her life while teaching in New Orleans and was married to Rod Ebeyer on June 27, 1970 in a mountainside ceremony at Pretty Place located in Greenville, South Carolina.
Dianne was a teacher for 42 years with a majority of her career with Lincoln Parish School Board focusing on English and Fine Arts. She sponsored the National Beta Club for Dubach High School and retired in June 2013. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Teaching her students, her children and her grandchildren were some of her proudest moments and now her legacy lives on through them which was her purpose all along. Her hobbies included painting, singing in the church choir, traveling, antiquing and doting on her grandchildren.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Rod Ebeyer; her son Jason Ebeyer and his wife Robin; daughter Erin Ward and her husband Jeremy. She leaves behind some of her greatest joys; her grandchildren; Kathryn Ebeyer, Andrew Ebeyer, Conner Ebeyer & Cullen Ward. Other survivors include her sister Eurana Miller and her husband Frank of Florida. Dianne is preceded in death by her parents P. Merrill and Cora Belle Capps along with her infant brother Charles Capps.
Arrangements will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church in Dubach, Louisiana on Saturday, November 9, 2019 under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:30am to 11:00am, Services to commence from 11:00am to Noon followed by a graveside service across the street at Fellowship Baptist Cemetery.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Dianne C. Ebeyer.
