Funeral services for David L. Thomas, SR., age 65 of Dubach, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston, LA with Rev. Garnett Wagner officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Rest Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

David was born January 3, 1959 in Homer, LA to Esther and Irown Thomas and passed away March 23, 2024 at his home in Dubach, LA. He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

David was a mechanic and worked at the LA DOTD for 28 years. He had many nicknames, and he was different names to different people including: DT, Bud, Killer (Bob), Double D, Paw, Papaw, and Daddy, but whatever you may have called him, there is one name that was true no matter who you were and that's friend. He loved hunting, talking on the phone, running dogs and spending time with his family. David was preceded in death by his parents: Esther Ward and Irown Thomas; and brother, George Lane Thomas.

David is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Denise R. Thomas; daughters: Jennifer Thomas and Christina Richardson and husband Chad; son, Bubba Thomas and wife Leslie; 21 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and sisters: Billie Tinsley and Pat Thomas and husband John.

Pallbearers are Payton Martin, Dalton Martin, AJ Martin, Robert Roton, Tommy Roton, Ricky Roton.

Visitation will be held from 12:30-2:00 PM, Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston.
