Graveside services for Dannye Gay Hinton, age 88, of Ruston, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ruston, LA under direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Dannye was born on November 23, 1932, in Ruston, LA, to Daniel Gay and Mayme Estes Gay. She went to her eternal home in heaven on April 3, 2021, after a difficult, but brief fight with pancreatic cancer.  She married James Allen Hinton on December 8, 1951 and they had one child, Marie Hinton Reed.  Dannye retired from the Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Office in 2004, where she was the secretary for Sheriff Wayne Houck.  She is preceded in death by her parents, five siblings and her beloved husband.

Surviving family members who are left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Marie Hinton Reed and husband Arthur Reed, Jr.; granddaughter, Chelsea Reed and fiancé Colwyn Howard and great-granddaughter, Sicily Howard (Sweet Girl).

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Tuesday at Owens Memorial Chapel.
