Daniel "Danny" Duke Howard, 63, of Ruston, LA, passed away on November 28, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Culbertson Baptist Church. Visitation is scheduled from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church.

Danny is preceded in death by his grandparents, Garland and Wista Duke, and Robert Dewey 'Bill' and Dovie Violet Howard; his father, Thomas Howard; and his brother Dewey Howard.

Danny is survived by his wife, Cheryl Howard; daughters and spouses Amy Howard and Jesse Hall and Jessica and Jeremy Dubose; his grandchildren, Raiden and Joran Caines and Kaylee Howard; his mother, Louella Howard; a brother, Dayton "Jug" Howard; and a sister, Renae Dickerson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews along with many beloved friends.

Danny was a loving husband, father and papaw. If you knew Danny at all, you knew how much he loved his family. His grandbabies were his world. Danny loved God, and would preach to whoever would and would not listen. He wanted everyone he met to know Christ. He was an avid hunter and also loved to fish. He loved being able to teach his girls and grandchildren how to hunt and was so proud when they all got their first deer! Processing deer was a passion for him. He processed with his dad for many years before restarting the family business after moving home from Wyoming. If you would listen, he would talk all day about processing deer! Danny was a "jack of all trades". He could fix or build anything you could imagine, and it would be perfectly square and level. He was a bit of a perfectionist. He loved everyone he came in contact with and would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. Danny loved big and will truly be missed.
