Funeral services for Connie Smith Stewart, age 75, of Ruston, LA will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Owens Memorial Chapel with Bro. Zach Yates officiating.  Burial will follow in Kilpatrick Memorial Gardens under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Connie was born on July 25, 1950 to W.D. and Dorothy Smith in Springhill, LA and passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025 in Shreveport, LA. She was a 1968 graduate of Springhill High School and was a loving mother and grandmother, and had a true passion for nursing.

She is survived by her two sons; Toby (Julia) Nations of Ruston, LA and Justin (Lisa) Nations of West Monroe, LA; two daughters, Barbie (Ben) Tyler of Mandeville, LA and Jennifer (James) Lee of McKinney, TX; eleven grandchildren: Sam, Peyton, and AJ Nations; Caroline, and Samantha Nations and Matthew Calhoun; Dorothy Grace and Georgia Tyler;  Xavier, Jeremiah, Jasmine and Katalina Lee; sister, Lela Bryan of Ruston, LA; brother, Ronnie (Kathleen) Smith of Ruston, LA; step-mother, Katherine Lester;  special niece, Misty Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Jack Stewart; parents, W.D. and Dorothy Smith; sister, Barbara Benson; and one grandson, Robert Parker Nations.

Pallbearers will be Sam Nations, Peyton Nations, AJ Nations, Nathan Smith, Caxton Smith, and Davin Lary.
