Connie Sue Hays, 59 of Downsville, LA passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Grace Baptist Church in Brewton's Mill, LA with Rev. John Austin officiating.  Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery in Brewton's Mill under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Connie was born in Shreveport, LA on November 17, 1959 to Hazel and Otis Barnett.  She grew up in Brewton's Mill and attended Calvin High School where she graduated in 1978.  She worked as a CNA through home health and was self-employed for many years.  She is preceded in death by her dad, Otis "Skeeter" Barnett and a sister, Judy Ann Frederick.

Connie is survived by her son, Robert Cody Thomas of Quitman, LA; her mother, Hazel Barnett of Saline, LA; two brothers: Buddy Hays and wife Theresa of Eros, LA and Donnie Hays and wife Kathy of Saline, LA; two sisters: Bonnie and husband Ronnie Wolfe of Downsville, LA and Norma and husband Tony Scallion of Goldonna, LA; grandson, Mason Thomas; granddaughters, Emma and Paisley Thomas and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Rodger Lee Collum, Terry D. Desadier, Clint Hays, Ronnie Wolfe, Jr., Josh Hays and Kaden Hays.  Honorary pallbearers are Shannon Collum, Ryan Frederick, Dakota Scallion and Gabe Johnson.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM, Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Grace Baptist Church.
