Memorial services for Alan Clark Hays, age 70, of Ruston, LA will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Salem Methodist Church in Dubach, LA officiated by Pastor Robbie Robertson

Clark was born on March 11, 1953 to Elza Ray Hays Jr., and Pauline Hays. He was riding horses from an early age and it was his favorite thing to do all of his life. He had a true passion for cattle and horses.

Clark graduated from Simsboro High School in 1971 and LA Tech in 1978 with a BS in Animal Science. He Penned, worked, and hauled cattle all of his life. Clark worked for LA Tech as supervisor over the Animal Science Lab Department for 10 years.

In 1999, he and his brother, Mike Hays, started Hays Brothers. They raised top notch Angus cattle, interacting with other cattlemen with similar interests until he retired in April of 2016 after a serious injury.

Clark loved life to the fullest. He loved his family and friends and would tell jokes nonstop because making people laugh gave him much pleasure.Clark's bout with Cancer finally took his life on November 25, 2023. He was surrounded by his wife and children.

Clark is survived by his wife of 47 yrs, Genene Hornsby Hays; his son, David Alan Hays; his daughter: Kristen Suzette Hays; sisters: Debbie (Don) Hays Crossen of Oklahoma, OK and Gail (Mike) Hays Grafton of Yorktown, IN; brothers: Mike (Liz) Hays of Arcadia, LA and Scott (Wendy) Hays of El Dorado, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
