Grave side services for Clarence "Hank" Wells of Tyler, Texas  will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 20, 2020 at Sibley Cemetery, Choudrant, LA with Rev. John Mabray officiating, under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Memorial services will be from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Covenent Presbyterian Church in Monroe, LA.

Clarence Henry "Hank" Wells, born to Thomas and Mary Wells on November 17, 1926, grew up in Denver, Colorado.  Hank at an early age had a deep appreciation for his family, friends, and teachers for their encouragement and love when embracing the opportunities and responsibilities of life.  He remained a constant companion to many friends and throughout his lifetime.

Straight out of high school he served in the 803rd Aviation Engineer Battalion in the Philippines in WWII. He was often heard stating that he told God that he would never complain again, if God would just get him home.  Hank rarely ever complained. He graduated from the University Of Denver School Of Architecture where he met Carole Jeanine Perkins.  They married and traveled to California where he began his architecture career.

In 1956 Hank and Carole, along with their children, moved to Monroe, Louisiana where he worked with Allen T. Turpin, Architects until beginning his own firm, Wells and Parker Architects in 1961 with Hugh Parker Jr.  After semi-retiring in 1987, Hank joined the School of Construction faculty at Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, Louisiana for a period of 8 years.  He also worked at the Monroe Housing Authority until the age of 81 in 2008.

Wells and Parker Architects designed hundreds of facilities, homes, and public spaces throughout North Louisiana.  Personal and professional priorities were always about the quality and value provided with the underlying principle of forging new friendships while maintaining old ones.  Universities, municipalities, school boards, businesses and individuals would return long after projects ended to engage Hank and his associates with new projects because they appreciated the relationship and the dedication to quality.  Hank never had a job or challenge he didn't love.  Hank's endless energy and creative drive fueled ample opportunities to build, improve, and explore new ideas in many forms of projects, art and service.

Hank was blessed to have married two incredible women Carole Jeanine Perkins, his first wife of almost 42 years, and his present devoted wife Mary Ann Beebe Meyer Wells who has been a wonderful blessing to him in the last 24 last years. Hank is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Wells and father, Thomas P. Wells of Denver, Colorado; wife, Carole Jeanine Perkins Wells, son, Peter James Wells, and grandsons Michael Henry Zeagler and Jonathan Daniel Wells.  He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Wells; Clare Zeagler and husband David; Jeff Wells and wife Phyllis; Dr. Robert Wells and wife Susan, grandchildren Leah Gallagher, Matthew Wells, Andrew Wells, and Caroline Wells, and great-grandchildren Christina Gallagher, Gregory Gallagher and Jonathan Gallagher.  Hank is survived also by Mary Ann's children, grandchildren great-grandchildren: Roseann Gueguen, Charlotte Sanford and husband Dr. Fagg Sanford, Becky Wilson and husband Mike, Bryan Meyer, Danielle Henderson, Cami Gueguen, Erin Elise Wilson, Michael Wilson, Lauren La Rue, Chris Sanford, Cynthia Bernaro, and Hamilton La Rue.

Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, gave to Clarence 'Hank' Wells a multitude of blessings that in his words was "far beyond Hank's expectations." Hank wanted each of you to know that these blessings came from the Lord and he shared these words Philippians 4:4 often, "Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say Rejoice!" Hank is finally home.
