Funeral services for Mr. Charles Huey, age 74 of Farmerville, LA are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston, LA with Rev. Brad Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Cartwright Cemetery near Choudrant, LA under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Charles was born April 1, 1949 in Monroe, LA to the union of Matt Fuller Huey, Sr. and Myrtle Estelle Speed Huey and passed away March 8, 2024 at his son's home in Bernice, LA after a brief illness.  He was a cross-country truck driver for over 35 years and served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam conflict.  Charles loved to hunt and fish, especially coon hunting with his friends.  He also enjoyed hog hunting, training his hounds and gardening.  Charles loved spending time with his kids and grandkids.  He also never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone.

Charles is survived by three sons:  Jamie Huey, James Huey and wife Karen of Ruston and John Huey and wife Jamie of Bernice; one daughter, Amy and husband Timothy Norwood of Rocky Branch; 12 grandchildren: Candice, Slater, Rachel, Westley, Madison, Lydia, John Jr. "JJ", Tessa, Anna, Timothy, Thomas and John Paul; one brother, Michael Huey and wife Sherry of Cartwright and numerous other family members and many friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Gerald Huey, Matt Huey, Jr. and Robert Huey.
