Funeral services for Carolyn Joyce Dumas, age 78 of Ruston, are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at Rock Corner Baptist Church near Dubach with Rev. Larry Bullock officiating. Interment will follow in Enterprise Cemetery in Farmerville under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

Carolyn was born on August 8, 1948 to Ira “Jug” & Lorena Dumas in Farmerville and passed away October 15, 2026 in Ruston. Carolyn loved to sing and play golf as well as watch football. She especially loved the fantasy football league she and her nephew, Mark, would do together. Carolyn never met a stranger and loved to talk to anyone about anything. She was full of classic comebacks and never missed an opportunity to joke around.

Carolyn is proceeded in death by her parents; her brother and sister-in-law Jack and Jeanette Dumas, brothers: Billy Dumas, Bobby Dumas, Devon Dumas and Charles Dumas and her brother-in-law JP Duke. She is survived by her sister, Ann Duke; her sister and brother-in-law Betty and Bobby Hammons; sister-in-law Jean Dumas; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeffery Duke, Todd Duke, Jason Duke, Jake Duke, Marty Hammons, and Michael Hammons. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Hammons, Stevie Dumas, Ronnie Dumas, and Tony Dumas.
