"Well, I'll SWANNY", Carolyn walked through the Pearly Gates and into Jesus's arms on October 23, 2024.

Marjorie Carolyn Cox Brazzel was born on December 10, 1939 in Snake Ridge, LA, and departed from this life on October 23, 2024 at her home in Vienna, LA, surrounded by her loved ones. She accepted Jesus as her savior at a young age and has served the Lord all her life. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed her Sunday School class and her senior group activities. She served in the sewing ministry at Calvary, making hats, scarves, masks, and blankets.

Carolyn graduated from cosmetology school in 1968 and for many years had a beauty shop in her home. She also worked with Vicki Michelli and Sissy King for many years. Carolyn enjoyed her work and loved to cut and fix hair… "shampoo and set". She was quick to tell you that you needed a trim and would cut it way too short if you didn't watch it.

If you knew Carolyn, you know she had a way with words. She was "fit to be tied." "That is nasty as kyarn." "Squirt blossom." "I 'bout died laughing." "Fiddle sticks." "They ate a bait of it." She had a "hissy fit" and was "crazy as a Betsy bug." She was pretty funny to say the least. Carolyn loved to play Dominoes and visit her family and friends. Each month she met with a group of special friends to play Pokeno. "My lands," she always won.

Carolyn was an excellent seamstress and made most of her kids' clothes when they were young. She once made zipper jeans for Lisa with two zippers in the front. She also made Keith's prom suit. Carolyn sewed for everyone, except Eric, because he was "the baby" and got to have "name-brand" items from the store.

Carolyn was proceeded in death by her husband, Gene Sherrill Brazzel; her father and mother, Lelon Leroy and Cora Ainsworth Cox; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John Nolan and Nancy Smith Brazzel; brothers-in-law: Vernard Brazzel and Mack Estes; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Donald Brazzel and wife, Eva Nell; Willie Earl Vining and wife, Vyonnell; Murlene Stewart Benedict and husbands, Lane Stewart and Marshall Benedict; Sonny Finley and wife, Janice; son-in-law, John Robeaux; grandson, Lane Hal McGaha; and her great granddaughter, Ava Marie Causey.

Carolyn is survived by her sons, Keith Brazzel and wife, Teresa; Eric Brazzel and wife, Lynne; her daughters, Lisa Brazzel and LaDonna Robeaux; her sister-in-law, Hilda Estes; her brothers: Delroy Cox and wife Diane; Gwen Cox and wife Virginia Ann; a dear friend, Travis Guice; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren with one on the way; as well as, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, extended family, and many friends.

Pallbearers include Christopher Causey, Harley Guynes, Cody Smith, Adam Brazzel, Logan Brazzel, Reagan Brazzel, Brandon Brazzel, and Stacie Robeaux.

The family would like to thank her special caretaker, Connie, Allegiance Hospice and her nurse, Kim Roberson, for all the care and support, as well as, Dr. Grigsby's office and staff for their care over the years. We thank you for all the prayers, texts, calls, cards, "food," visits, etc.

We appreciate all your acts of kindness more than you know. We love you all.
