Private Graveside services for Carol Ann Hughes Williams, age 65 of Simsboro, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Simsboro Cemetery at the family plot with Rev. Wilton Wall officiating.
Carol was born on July 29, 1955 in Memphis, TN and passed away on January 8, 2021 in Ruston, LA. She was a lifetime resident of Simsboro, LA with residence at Alpine rehabilitation Home for the last few years.
Carol's adoptive parents (grandparents) were Primus and Myrtle Williams and her birth parents were Dave and Cora Hughes. She had a brother named Chris, a sister named Lisa and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Carol attended Hillcrest Elementary School and later participated in vocational activities at the Margaret Roane Center. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Simsboro. Carol was an avid supporter of the Shreveport Mud Bugs, yearly participant of the Louisiana Special Olympics, yearly attendee of Camp Larcee and Med Camp in Greenwood, LA.
Carol is preceded in death by her adoptive parents (grandparents): Primus and Myrtle Williams; special uncle and aunt: Melvin Colvin and wife Juanita; uncle and aunt: Jack Green and wife Gypsy; birth father: Dave Hughes and brother: Chris Hughes.
Carol is survived by uncle and aunt: Sam Williams and wife Mercedes; birth mother: Cora Hughes; sister: Lisa Brown; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Carol's family would like to express their appreciation to the kind and compassionate doctors, nurses, and staff at Alpine Rehabilitation Hospital for the care they have provided to Carol over the years. The family would also like to thank Premier Hospice for the care they provided Carol in the last few months.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests all memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church in Simsboro, LA.
