She was blessed with a God given musical talent. Birdie played the piano for her church, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Ruston, LA. She absolutely enjoyed singing and God blessed her with a beautiful alto voice. A few of her favorite songs: "The Old Rugged Cross," "In the Garden" (her mom's favorite), and "Because He Lives." Her other favorite things were growing flowers, crocheting (she won first place at a state fair), and watching deer and cardinals. Birdie collected angel figurines. She said she liked them because of "their beauty, worship of God, and service to him." Her favorite verse was John 3:16. In school her favorite sport was basketball and she was also a great player.
