Private graveside services for Betty Louise Pierce, age 87 of Ruston will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 14, 2020 at the Vienna Cemetery in Vienna, LA with Rev. Bruce Wilson officiating, under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Betty was a lifetime resident of Ruston, she was born December 26, 1932 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 10, 2020 in Ruston. She married Volney Pierce June 2, 1955 and they were married for sixty years. Betty graduated Ruston High School and attended Louisiana Tech where she obtained a Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Education. She taught at Ruston Elementary School for over twenty years. Betty was a faithful member of the John Knox Presbyterian Church for forty-seven years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Volney Pierce; brother, Robert H. Roberts; granddaughter, Rachel McCrary and son-in-law Jon McCrary.

Betty is survived by her sons: Gene Pierce and wife Jody of Flowood, MS and Steve Pierce and wife Jackie of St. Amant, LA; daughters: Nancy and husband Jeff Grigsby of Midland, TX and Donna McCrary of Dry Creek, LA; eighteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
