Funeral services for Betty Sue Boyte, age 73 of Ruston, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Owens Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jeff Sanford officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery in Choudrant, LA under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston, LA.

Betty was born May 11, 1949 to Frances Reppond and Billy Johnston and passed away June 13, 2022 in Ruston, LA. In her younger years, she worked at Alpine and Long Leaf Nursing Homes. Betty liked to read, liked to fish, cared deeply for pets, and she loved taking care of her cats. She enjoyed spending time with her great-nieces and great-nephews, visiting with family, sitting on her front porch, and loved taking her nieces to church on Sunday and to the skating rink. Betty was preceded in death by her parents: Billy and Frances Johnston; four brothers: Billy Neal Johnston, Jr., Jerry Ray Johnston, Johnny Alvin Johnston, and William Reagan Johnston; and brother-in-law: Carl Calhoun.

Betty is survived by her husband of 47 years: Dennis Boyte of Ruston, LA; two sisters: Brenda Harris of Ruston, LA and Nancy Calhoun of Dubach, LA; brother: Robert Johnston and wife Sandra of Choudrant, LA; special niece: Katie Rogers of Farmerville, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be 12:30-2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
