Barbara Jean Moore was born October 14, 1952 in Ruston, Louisiana to Leola Bozeman and Truett Moore, the third of five daughters. She departed this life April 27, 2022 in Arcadia, Louisiana.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law: Larry Smith and Howard Doughty.  Those left to cherish her memory are sisters: Katherine Colvin (Mack), Judy Doughty, Sue West (Tim), and Vicky Moore.  She will also be fondly remembered by her nieces: Rachel Jackson (Jim) and Anna Ray (Tim), and nephews: Michael Smith, Ted Doughty, and Ryan Smith, as well as two great nieces and three great nephews.  Her extended family included a special uncle, James Bozeman and many cousins and friends.

Many will remember "Miss Barbara" from the Lincoln Parish Library, especially the children who attended her story times and other special children's activities.  She had a lifetime passion for children and for books.  Anyone wishing to honor the memory of Miss Barbara should consider donating to your favorite library in her honor.  If you want to do something for her memory, read a favorite story to a child, or give them a book.  When not working at the library, Barbara was often volunteering in many charitable organizations.  Another way to remember Barbara would be to give to the charity of your choice in her name.

Per Barbara's wishes, there will be a private family memorial service at a later date.
