Funeral services for Barbara Ann Gardner, age 94 of Ruston, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 19, 2024 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston, LA with Pastor Perry Culver officiating. Burial will follow in Kilpatricks Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Ruston, LA under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Barbara was born January 29, 1930 in Effingham County, Illinois to John and Emma Huelskoetter and passed way February 14, 2024 in Ruston, LA. She was the payroll accountant for the Ruston Developmental Center for over 30 years. After retiring, Barbara enjoyed playing her piano and baking, especially cookies and cakes. She was also an artist, painting numerous pictures of nature and landscapes. Barbara also spent days bird watching and taking care of her many cats. She also loved sewing and reading her Bible. Barbara was ever independent right up until the end still driving herself, learning how to text message with emojis, and taking care of herself and her home as well as her granddaughter Miranda.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Gardner; daughter, Julie Harper; her parents: John and Emma Huelskoetter. She is survived by her granddaughter Miranda Janelle Ledford and a host of family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Noah Cagle, Glynn Cagle, Joseph Foster, Adam Cagle, Heath Gilbert, and Jayden Revels.

Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 PM, Monday, February 19, 2024 at Owens Memorial Chapel.
