Funeral services for Barbara Jean Dispenza, age 74, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston, LA with Rev. Jeff Smart and Rev. Chad Wise officiating. Burial will follow in Pecan Cemetery in Dubach, LA under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
Barbara Jean Dispenza was born on August 27, 1946 at Rayville, LA to the union of her parents, Otis Odell Maxwell and Irene B. Maxwell.
She had a giving heart and always helped her family and friends in need and never expected anything in return but love. Her pride and joy were her dogs and cats: Chatah, Skeeter, Cricket, Coco, Abby, and Puff. Barbara Jean thoroughly enjoyed her flowers that surrounded her home. Her absolute favorite holiday was Christmas. What made her the happiest was seeing her family smile while opening their gifts. She was an avid shopper and loved buying gifts for her family. She will always be remembered for speaking her mind and loving her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Otis Odell Maxwell and Irene Maxwell; and her brother: Jimmy Maxwell.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 44 years, Victor Anthony Dispenza of Dubach, LA; four sisters: Lettirese Carr, Tricia Myers, Brenda Williams, and Cathy Greer; four brothers: Delmer Maxwell, Dale Maxwell, Elton Maxwell, and Bobby Lane Maxwell; three sons: Roy Wise, lll (Tammy) of Dubach, LA, Gregory Wise (Natalie) of Sharon, LA, and Elton "Scooter" Wise (LeAnn) of Columbia, MS; and her daughter: Tammy Hutto (Stacey) of Winnsboro, LA; ten grandchildren: Chad Wise (Natalie), Faren Wise, Emily Tucker (Christopher), Heather Crawford (Terril), Megan Muse (Blayne), Mackenzie Wise, Justin Hutto (Paige), Jordan Hatten (Dakota), Hunter Wise, and Katelyn Morris; and thirteen great-grandchildren: Emma Grace, Gavin, Collier, Peyton, Brett, Chace, Caroline, Lakynn, Andelina, Elliot, Noah, Everly, and Lillian.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Wise, Hunter Wise, Dakota Hatten, Justin Hutto, Nathan Wilson, and James Dispenza. Honorary pallbearer will be Christopher Tucker and Greg Terry.
