Funeral services for Audra Fay Brister Pesnell, age 86 of Choudrant, LA will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at First Baptist Church Choudrant with Rev. Gil Arthur officiating. Burial will follow in Longstraw Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.

Audra was born on March 25, 1940 in Sikes, LA to Yancie and Homer Brister and passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026 in Choudrant, LA. She was a longtime member of Choudrant First Baptist Church. Audra never met a stranger and was loved by everyone that knew her.

Audra's happiest moments were when she was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was such a wonderful person, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Audra will be remembered for all her generosity, love, and kindness that she gave to everyone.

Audra was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Pesnell; brothers, Arshal Brister, Homer Dean Brister, Stanley Brister, Lewis Brister, Pete Brister, and Bobby Brister; and sisters, Vetoile Brister Gates and Virginia Brister Hoover. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Smith and husband Charles; son, David Pesnell; grandchildren, Corey Smith, Tyler Smith and wife Diamond, and Zach Smith and wife Grace; and a host of extended family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Corey Smith, Zach Smith, Tyler Smith, Larry Brister, Clay Brister, and Randy Brister. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Brister, Mark Pesnell, Mike Griffin, and Jerry Hebert.
