Tommy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather peacefully passed away to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 18, 2015 surrounded by his wife, family, and friends. Tommy was born June 5, 1941 in Bernice, LA at the home he grew up in. He graduated from Hico High school in 1958 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was stationed at Lackland AFB for a period of time. Tommy was a lifelong resident of Bernice where he met and married the love of his life, JoAnn. He relished in being an entrepreneur and farmer throughout his lifetime. Tommy was no stranger to the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish on the land that he grew up on. Tommy cherished and loved his family and friends with all of his heart and soul. He was truly a blessed man and blessed all those who crossed his path.
Those left to cherish the many precious memories are his loving wife of 55 years, JoAnn Deason, and their three children, Robin Collinsworth Nattin and former husband Daniel Fen Collinsworth; James Thomas Deason Jr. and wife Cindy; and DeAnn Deason; and his sister, Betty Jo Kendrick. He was blessed with four beautiful grandchildren, West Collinsworth and wife Robin; Meghan Hooper and husband Christopher; Thomas "T.J." Deason; Jennifer Mathiason and husband Jason; and seven great grandchildren, Collin, Bo, Ivy, Walker, Wyatt, Reese, and Kaden whom will all greatly miss their "Papaw Tommy."
