Funeral services for Opal I. Brooks, 88, will be Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 2 pm. She passed away at Northern Louisiana Medical Ctr. after a brief illness. Pastor Chris Witt will officiate. Burial will follow in Simbsoro City Cemetery in Simsboro under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel of Ruston.

Mrs. Brooks is survived by her daughter Melody Hastings and husband, Roy Hastings of Dubach, La; grandchildren, Lanette Vines and husband, Gary Vines, and Christy Hammett; great grandchildren, Justin Vines, Cody Vines, and Chasity Voss all of Hermitage, Ar.; numeruous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who were very dear to her. She was preceded in death by her husband, George F. Brooks, Jr.; daughter Beverly Jenine Brooks; grandson, Jesse Roy Roberts; great grandson, Gregory Fulkroad; mother Eliza Ann Crawley; father, Benjamin Frank Crawley; eleven siblings, three nieces, three nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, March 23, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston.
